Just looked it up, sunset is 8:35 here right now. In the past he has liked to settle down to sleep an hour before lights off, so maybe this is the case. I hadn't thought of that.
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Male veiled, 6 months old. I've had him for about 6 weeks.
Handling - Every day, up to 15 minutes.

I have one of those combo deep domes (like this http://www.lightyourreptiles.com/zoomeddomide.html) that only has one bulb, his basking bulb, in it right now. It takes up a fair bit of his cage top, plus the dripper, plus the 20" hood. I was hoping I could put a grow light in the other side of...
Sometimes I feel like I start too many threads! I searched but couldn't quite find the answer I was looking for.
I'm considering getting a hibiscus for my cham, but I'm not sure what to do with the grow light it needs. I'd prefer not to get a tube light as another hood would be way too...
Chameleon care is such a problem with petsmart. As an employee, I am going to write a detailed letter to corporate about their care guidelines, employee education, and age of chameleons being sold to customers. Keep in mind when complaining to petsmart employees or managers that there is...
I just went to walmart today, and they had 3 sizes of Hibiscus! One of them was about $19 and it was 4'-5' tall. If I had room, Jean-luc would have had a new free-range.
I asked the same question when I got my cham. The board said a repti-glo 5.0 26 watt coil would be all right. I ended up going with a tube light anyway because the coil one broke the moment I tried screwing it in, and also I like that the tube light "spreads out" its light more. But I think...
Of course -- as I said, as a treat. I'd prefer to get him some butterworms, as they're a real food and I know he likes them, but shipping is a tad expensive for me to do that right now.
Could he shower with me, across the tub, on his plant? Would that make it too scary for him? I'm home all day tomorrow, but it's cleaning day which tends to be stressful anyway and I leave him alone except for cleaning on those days.
Good to know. Maybe I'll pick up some waxworms as a treat to make him a little happier. Would it be wise to completely stop handling him except cage cleaning days? Up until now, he's been handled every day for 15-30 minutes, and he usually chooses to spend that time in the window plant.
Right now I have a "cricket feeder", which is a bottle cut with the front open and mesh on the back and bottom to encourage the crickets to climb. Everyday I throw in the crickets and he comes over and catches them. If I were to cup-feed, how should I hold the cup? Should I just put the cup in...
Hi again. Jean-Luc is getting progressively more unfriendly, and in the past few days he's started to lunge at me when I put my hand in the cage! Before, he would hiss sometimes, but not every time. He hasn't handfed since day 2 of me having him. I've had him for about 5 weeks now.
I'd...
Yes as lysinlight said, it really does need to go. As you said, she is very active, and you never know when she might choose to go to the bottom of the cage. My guy is active too and he likes to explore his cage. All it takes is her shooting at one loose cricket on the floor of the cage for her...
I suspect it's normal, mine does this too. He will move to his sleeping spot an hour early and then pretty much fall completely asleep half an hour early.
Dear forum members, if this isn't normal, please let us know!
