The book is called The Chameleon Handbook by Francois Le Berre. I picked it up at the store the other day to check out. It says it may be used as a form of communication with other chameleons.

So I read in a chameleon book today that Chamaeleonids are known to emit purrs from their body much like other members of the animal kingdom. Apparently you can even feel it to the touch too! Has anyone ever felt or heard their cham purr?

My veiled is around the same age, he is extremely shy so I feel your pain! The first thing I did was let him get used to me having the cage door open. Hello, currently I am feeding my baby veiled crickets and mealworms. I understand he needs a variety for his diet, but I cannot find any stores near me that sell anything other than the usual feeders. Do you all have suggestions on what is small enough to feed him, and where I can find them online?

They are definately part of his pattern, as they are on both sides in the same pattern. I was just wondering if the brown was bad because all i have seen on him as was white.

A side note i should add is he is always basking on a horizontal branch. He may just be blending in?

Hey all, i have a baby veiled all set up in his cage with everything he needs. My question is about crickets....I have lots of small brown crickets that he loves to hunt for, but I dont feel safe leaving them in the cage with him. I put about 6 in there to start with today to see how he does...
