Hi!
Sorry, I just saw this. I don't think they were anything special, just from the potting soil. I was overly excited to think they were chameleon eggs. I later realized my cham was a male!
Hi all, I started my senegal with this enclosure, but upgraded. It occures to me I should pass it on! It was used for maybe 6 months, and has been cleaned, and unused for at least another 6 months.
Basically like new condition, except for one small hole up top for a dripper tube, which could...
Honestly, it appears like it is coming out.. If my memory serves, I noticed the slight bump before I ever noticed anything in the center. I just sort of figured it was a small bump there. Then one day, I noticed it now had something at the center.
This is something odd, that I have noticed appear, but has not evolved much over time. I've noticed this for maybe a month or so.
My senegal, who is coming up on a year, has a small bump on the right side of his lower jaw. It's not terribly pronounced, but sticking out of that bump a brown...
Did I not say I was taking the advice? I am taking the advice! I said I was taking it before the comment was made that insulted me! I can and will take the advice, and I don't find it insulting to my intelligence. I'm not that intelligent, that's why I'm hashing out my thoughts on what's going...
Thank you for your responses everyone, and as I mentioned, I will be dealing with the light issue! I had not realized it was an issue, and it didn't appear to be one up to this point.
A special thanks to kinyonga for mentioning the possibility of it being too hot as the first response. From...
I checked a few inches directly under the light, and it's approx 100F there. Which I am thinking is too much! Of course it will be cooler further away and to any direction to the side, but I'm thinking that is too hot.
Then again, it is 100F outside today.. However, it is 73F in my house.
I understand what you are saying about leaving him be. I understand that it is easy to be from one extreme (not paying enough attention to details) to the other (overly obsessing to the point of harm) when it comes to these guys. I would imagine I'm more towards the latter, in general.
I would...
I'm beginning to think maybe the temps are too much, in light of the suggestions. Maybe it was already borderline too hot, and with the summer its now too hot.
As they get older, are they more sensitive to being too hot? Or rather, do they have slightly different heat requirements?
I have a...
I believe he has been drinking (I don't always see) but he has a dripper and gets misted regularly. He has recently started defacating in smaller amounts and almost everyday now. Not but a touch of orange/yellow and a good white urate.
I agree with you about the plants.. that only happenes to...
I've filled one out before, I'll find it and see what/if anything needs updated and repost it.
I don't think it's temperature related.
I rarely ever try to handle him except for necessity. In this case, it is my fault that I left the cage open, but I have often done that. He's never had...
It's not looking good.
Today at lunch (I make it home within my hour) I went to feed him a cricket, but he seemed disinterested. Not totally unusual, he only eats when he feels like it.
However, I left the cage door open, and as I was heating food, I noticed he was making his way towards...
I was kinda thinking that, being the lighter color, but nothing really shold have changed.. unless he just wants things to be cooler now. At night, it's probably 73, as I don't keep my house A/c sent any lower.
Well, I haven't changed anything with my husbandry recently, besides not giving the heptivite as often as I was (which was about four times too much as rec. around here) and I have been paying close attention to what is said in general. I have had him for almost six months, and have seen nothing...
I've had my senegal since Feb, 5 months now. He has shed pretty much EVERY month since then, and is obviously getting bigger. He used to make a bowl movement somewhat infrequently, and they always seemed pretty big. Once or twice a week, really. I was always somewhat concerned about that, but...
So do you guys think over-supplementation could just as easily be affecting this is too little?
I have a baggie of just calcium, one with 50/50 cal/multivit and one with just D3 cal, so I have not been doing the 50/50 every time I do the calcium, but I have been doing it probably 8 times a...
I have been dusting mine (apparently too much, using the ghost white bag method) almost everyday with plain rept-cal calcium. I do their calcium with D3 once a month. I think I should be doing that twice a month?
Also, I have been using the reptivite aronund two times a week, dusted in the...
I posted something like this recently, and I have been hand feeding exclusively for at least two months. I hadn't noticed this until recently.
Is your cham still able to use his tongue correctly sometimes? If I put the food further away, he will shoot it no problem. Sometimes he doesn't do it...
Wow I feel so bad for that cham! He looks like a zombie! But he does look like he has a grip and appears alert... I'm only a new owner myself but he just looks like he needs help.
