what i find interesting is my guy, same clutch and age, is mostly green with blue barring lol
not exactly what i wanted but he is still looking great and has a long ways to go before he fully matures into his colors.
So today my guy is 3 months old so I figured I would post an update. He still isn't quite used to me yet so the only way I was able to get a half decent photo was while he was sleeping. Not the greatest photo ever but you can still see his colors coming in nicely.
you definitely got yourself a stunner of a chameleon there!! keep us updated with photos really interested to see how he turns out
also where did you get him from and what line is he from? If you don't mind me asking
so I came up with another question while pondering this over. What is the best way to get the crickets out of these bigger enclosures with out getting a billion of them out?
just seems like this setup would make it a little harder to get access to just a few crickets and take them out and feed...
Thanks for all the advice. I think I am going to have to go with Ferret's idea because it seems to be the cheapest since I don't have spare tanks laying around.
Hey everyone,
Still new to this hobby but my girlfriend has a bearded dragon, a gecko, and a veiled chameleon. We started buying crickets in bulk to save money but we don't have the best setup to keep them, as we found out the hard way lol. Our cricket pens look like biohazards currently so...
thanks guys for the kind posts
Definitely going to take lots of photos of him and keep this thread updated
And as far as attitude goes, he really was pissed but he wouldn't let go of my hand when I put him in his cage. He literally sat there for 5 min looking at me, not moving, and being like...
So I got my new guy this morning and took a quick photo of him as I was putting him in his cage. He wasn't very happy but who would be after traveling cross country over night. The photo doesn't really show it but he already has some reds on his stomach, greens on his head, and yellow on his...
mine got here this morning, took a pic of him from my phone as i was putting him in his cage but he was not happy to say the least. Granted I wouldn't be either if I had stayed in tiny plastic bucket over night lol
definitely rooting for you and hope everything works out well. Also don't be so hard on yourself, sometimes creatures get sick and you can't do anything about it.
I have been told to feed male babies 8-12 crickets everyday of the 1/8-1/4" size
from 4-12 months 8-12 crickets everyday of the 1/2-3/4" size
and then after 12 months 10-15 crickets every other day of the 1/2-3/4" size
not really sure on the female though and I know it depends on if you are...
yea I am no expert but does that part hanging off to the side contain partially digested food? if so that probably isn't a good sign. Now if it is just one poop probably not a huge deal but if it continues to happen definitely take it to a local herp vet. Might also have something to do with...
definitely has some cool colors in him. The best indicator you can get is to try and see what the sire looks like and the dame's sire looks like.
Honestly though I think it is really hard for a chameleon to look ugly lol, some just so more of a specific color or have been bred for a certain...
