My chameleons flex is next to a window but not against one, there're a lot of gardens outside, the occasional car maybe 3 times a day, lots of dogs.
It hasn't caused any health problems at all, Pascal likes to watch the sunset and generally sleeps as close to the window as he can get, he also...
Chams can't hear. if the fan causes the chameleon to pick up vibrations then the chameleon will know it's there but they probably won't really mind it. make sure the fan points away from the cage/tank to prevent it drying the cage/tank out and the chameleon will probably just consider it another...
the carnivore mix is what my vet gave me when i took my sisters (critically sick, completely neglected - they went on holiday and left me to look after the animals. taking her gecko to the vet was the first thing i did when i saw the condition) gecko there. it was seriously thin and the vet gave...
Hi,
today Pascal went to the vets for the 3rd new problem in a year. It turned out to be another eye infection, the same as he has had before (the first time he went - the second time was an infection along his spine) and he's back on exocin drops for the next week or so.
I was wondering if...
hi,
my male chameleon is a year old pretty much this week, he's been grumpy a lot recently and isn't 100% interested in food, he has shown more interest in his veg than his locusts and worms but not eating his normal amounts.
this morning i got him out and he gripped my hand really tightly...
My chameleon has recently decided not to eat crickets but to eat locusts. i've never had much difficulty keeping crickets as they survive long enough in tubs of about 10 with a milk carton lid of bug gel and bug grub. i tried this with locusts but things got mouldy quickly and they died pretty...
mine does that, could also mean he's got something stuck in it though so if he starts doing it progressively more often, take him to the vets because it could be infected, and it's amazing how quickly infections get worse and spread. cost me £40 for the consultations and the eye drops to clear...
the vet said it looked like he'd done one of two things, either it had gotten a itchy and he'd rubbed it, or he'd burned it, and from there it had gotten infected. not sure how it got infected as the last time he was treated for an eye infection was well over 5 months ago. the vet said that the...
Pascal saw his vet today, he's been given antibiotics, will be going back in a week to check their progress.
hopefully the antibiotics will treat both the infection in his spine and eye. apparently it was a narrow miss with his spine which could have spread downwards.
cost me £41 for today and...
hi,
thanks for the replies.
i think the theory that he has burned it and it has got infected might be it, he has moved around a fair bit recently, i know where he was when i noticed the marks first and perhapse the bulbs were a little low - we were having difficult weather and i thought it...
hi,
im booking Pascal an appointment at my specialist vets tomorrow morning hopefully for monday, so please no "get him to the vets, terrible owner" comments ;)
just wondering if anyone's had this before or knows what it is.
the experts in the shop i bought him from and visit regularly for...
Hi,
my male veiled is roughly 8 months old now, i moved him to a different part of the room about a month ago to make room for potentially a new cham and since then he's been a little unhappy looking. but recently (last week or two) ive noticed that he's just not going for his crickets with the...
mine had an eye problem when he was about 3 months old, he'd never really come out of his flex without a bit of an argument, the vet gave him eye drops which he needed 3 times a day for a week. after being handled 3 times a day for that week he seems to have learned to accept that sometimes he's...
noticed some white patches on pascals spine about a week ago, it looks the same as the rest of the coloring on him, nothing visibly wrong with the skin or spine or the individual bumps along the spine, the skin has just gone white. he's acting normally and is becoming slightly friendlier which...
took him in to the one stop with me (just off the end of the road, so a 30 second walk) and he went normal colors again (light green and yellow, white patches)
i suppose maybe he doesnt like a)the wind and b) being out in the open
he seemed happy in the shop...*weird*
took pascal outside today
it's sunny and fairly warm - probably not warm enough but in the sun it would have been 24-26 degreen C so he'd be ok for a few minutes
im finding he acts pretty weird when out in the open,
his skin goes a dark green with other shades of green, and he has white...
