Cherron, I am usually on the same schedule as you so my cham is on that schedule as well so that's why I thought about the idea that on the weekends I could change up his feeders with a couple of moths from the back patio.
I'm really enjoying this conversation and I am learning more than if...
Well the big one is all the small moths we have in Texas. I saw pictures of one cham eating moths but I just thought I'd see what other cham owners think and points of view are.
I was sitting here reading through all the post over the last couple of months since I was able to post and I was just wondering what your thoughts are on Panther Chams eating wild bugs like: Moths, fly's, crickets, etc. I live in Texas (not back there yet) and I will be moving to Shreveport...
I'm leaving to go to the middle east for 4 months and I really need somebody to take care of my male ambilobe panther while I'm gone. I only have 2 weeks to find somebody to take care of him or I'm going to have to sell him thru the local pet store and I realy don't want to. I found out a week...
Is there anybody nearby willing to help me out while I'm deployed to the middleeast? What about anybody who might have a spare cage available for my cham to stay in while I'm gone? I am willing to ship him and I will pay for everything.
Thanks
that's a really good idea. I was having that exact problem my cham like to chase them but he doesn't get them all if I let them go free in his cage.
I might have to see if I can find a smaller water jug to use instead of a 1 gal because my cage is only 18x18x36.
I'd like to see some...
I've been toying with a feeding cup and I can't seem to figure out where to put it or how to mount it so it can be removed for cleaning daily. Does anybody have any pictures of feeding cups in chams cages.
Thanks
It keeps the crickets from getting down under the pot where all the water drains out. It just keeps the crickets contained where the cham can get them.
It also makes it really easy to clean because when he poops or a cricket dies I can just pull the plastic halves out and clean them.
Well I bought a new plant (money tree) and some vines and remodeled his cage. He needed more branches and more cover as well as a place to perch under the Sun.
Here's the old pic
And the new and improved chameleon resort
I just found out that I have to deploy overseas and I don't have anybody to watch my Chameleon because my wife is also in the AF and she is going thru Tech school in MS right now. I live in Abilene, Tx and I was hoping there might be somebody in TX, LA, or AR who might be willing to take care...
Well I've had my Male Panther since October and He has been aquiring his different colors one at a time it seems. Today I was watching him hunt crickets and he tried to get one and it jumped right before he could get it and then all of a sudden he turned bright Yellow and green stripes with...
Hey thanks for the link to the gutload. I was looking at that earlier today after I posted at the health information on that site and I saw that recipe. I'm going to try it and see if it helps. I'll keep a good eye on him and see if he improves. It has been so dry here lately that I thought...
The UVB light does not pass thru anything. I removed the plastic light when I originally bought it a couple years ago. I also purchased a new Reptisun 5.0 light bulb when I recieved him.
The crickets get dusted with Rep-Cal Calcium with Vit D3 every day except the one day a week I use the...
OK he's using it a little bit today but only about half the distance as usual but he is using it. I have a feeding cup but he won't eat out of it and the crickets can get out if they try so he usually eats them as they are looking for a way out.
I went back to hand misting him yesterday...
He has been fine untill today he was eating fine yesterday and it's just today. Please don't jump down my throat about the Habba Mist. I have set up everything and he has been fine till the last day so I will get another timer and set up my other little pump to mist more. I just wanted to...
I have a male Panther about 6 months old and he's been acting weird. When he chases down a cricket he goes up to it and instead of getting it with his tongue he just bites it and eats it that way. I saw him try and roll out his tongue but it didn't do anything. I'm thinking about taking him...
