I just want to say hello and welcome. I want to chime in and let you know my experience here. I hope that it will ease your mind a bit.
When I first got my guy he was in a bad way. I had little knowledge, but I found my way here. I adopted my veiled from someone who no longer wanted him. Due...
I’ve no experience with babies so take my advice with a grain of salt. When my adult veiled has a similar issue, and extra mistings weren’t solving it, I gently dropped plain saline water into his eye a few times. This helped him more directly clean it out.
Thanks everyone! He says hello! He’s doing well, always curious and exploring, coming up to the front of the enclosure to say hi and ask for bugs. He always seems to be either shedding or has a bit of shed left. He’s yet to have a perfectly clean shed, always seems to have some that sticks...
Yep I see a spur too!! So the more whit there is, the more hydrated. It looks ok to me. You want half or more white. I bet he is just stressed. It can take two weeks for them to settle in to their new home.
Do you think they are sunk in? If that’s the case, watch the urates. Stress can cause that to happen too and moving to a new home is definitely stressful. Do not manually give water yet. It’s risky cause the airway is in the front and you can aspirate him. I think he looks fine personally. Are...
With MBD he would be weak, falling, loose grip, grabbing his front legs with his back feet. As long as you have the correct lighting, change the bulbs when needed, and correct supplements, MBD shouldn’t be an issue. Your guy looks pretty healthy. I know they are stressful and worry us all the...
Oh he is pretty! As they get older, shedding takes much longer and happens less often. They will not shed all at once. They may shed their head first, then a while later shed their tail, and so on. What you are describing sounds perfectly normal.
has the tongue issue gotten any worse? Or is it...
Good catch! I can’t speak for @Beman , but I would assume she either missed this or was more concerned with figuring out what was causing him to not feel so well. Having only dubia would not likely be what is causing his illness, so it may have been looked over for the moment.
Having a varied...
Little update. Chopstick should lay her first egg any day. Seaweed is the perfect gentleman rooster, protecting his lady, bringing her treats and encouraging her to nest. HOWEVER they decided to BREAK IN TO MY HOUSE! Apparently I didn’t get the back door quite closed and they came in and made...
Here’s the thread from my guy. Maybe see if it seems similar to your issue. Good luck and keep us posted.

So I’m no expert, but my guy had a similar issue a while back. A little blood was in his urates. Turned out he had a slight infection. Vet gave me some ointment and it cleared up. I’d say take a sample to the vet or get your guy in to see the vet. Hornworms are great to give him for hydration.
I’m terribly sorry for your loss. DO NOT BLAME YOURSELF. You were doing everything you could to help your girl. You were doing right by her. You were trying to get her better. You can not blame yourself for that. There are not a lot of people who care so deeply for these wonderful creatures...
