Thanks. I have a different fixture for each creature's enclosure, so I doubt it's the fixture. The last time I had this problem, it was with the same type of solarmeter after I had just gotten it (It was over $200), and it was doing the same thing. I returned it and got this one, and it worked...
Do solarmeters ever need recalibrated? Mine worked when it came, but now it's telling me that every single one of the UVB bulbs, from three different packages, are not putting out enough UVB. I have four beardies and my chameleon, and it's giving me the same reading for all of them.
Thank you all so much for responding! That gives me a lot of relief. Nothing looks swollen on him or anything, so I think he must be okay. Whew! :) I appreciate everyone here!
Hello, All. So I recently lost a baby veiled cham to some horrible sickness the vet could not figure out. I have another adult male veiled cham and have been watching him very closely, checking on him several times daily for a few weeks. He has been eating fine and other than showing some stress...
I had a problem with ants getting into my male cham's enclosure. The bug sprays are starting to not be able to fend them off. I took a risk with cinnamon and mild chili powder, because it was either that or let the ants set up shop and eat him alive while he was sleeping at night. I dusted the...
We made ledges similar to the ones in the Dragon Strand cages. We used some of that floor board and doubled it up, put the holes through it, and then used cut PVC pipe to attach the ledge to the sides of the cage :)
Hi, I know that many cham stewards intentionally draw wild insects to their chams' outdoor enclosures and let their chams eat those wild insects. I was wondering what kinds of wild insects those of you who do this are eaten by your cams? If you do that, am I able to draw some wild insects to...
Okay, thank you very much, James. So are I have only seen a few, and I think they are just trying to carry the shed pieces out of the enclosure to wherever. I will be watchful to make sure more don't show up and sort of swarm the ground area, showing evidence of nesting intentions.
Oh, wow, yeah. I never thought of someone doing a 3d printed. That would be awesome! And thanks for the compliment. The planter is not on wheels. I have it set up on 1 3/4 inch feet supporting the floor board. I don't plan to move it, at least not for a very long time, so I didn't really feel...
Hey, Everyone. So I am putting this in enclosures, because I thought it was more fitting since I am asking about ants as a cleanup crew rather than food. In my male's enclosure, I saw a few ants in his soil at the bottom carrying pieces of his skin shed, lol. I am wondering if it is okay to...
Hey, All! So I got my enclosure functional, and Bambi is using it already. The vet did another deworming and cleared her to be transferred to a new enclosure with fresh substrate and said she doesn't need anymore dewormings as long as she is doing okay. All of her branches are new branches...
Will do! Thanks! Putting the landscaping material into the planter box today. Sewing didn't go so well, lol. I'm good with wood, not so much fabric, so I'm just going to nail it in, lol.
