    Just an update: Bloo has gone from 96 grams to 104 grams in just over a week, that's progress right there! Just 1 or 2 more weeks of daily feeding and then he'll be cutting back to every other day! Thanks so much everyone for your advice on this.

    I live in Ottawa, I've spent lost of time trying to find other more "rare" feeders, and I haven't had any luck. I've looked on kijiji and facebook groups.

    just a quick update, his appetite is REALLY turning around!! he's taking down 10-15 large crickets a day, I know that is a lot for an adult, but once he gains some weight back, ill slow it down to 5-10 every other day. :)

    Yea, I know they aren't used to crickets in the wild, but Bloo has been in captivity since Feb 2018 and he has always eaten crickets as a staple.

    silks are hardER to get, but I could still get my hands on them. A few of the places I checked out that ship feeders won't ship silks right now because of the high temps and RH we have right now.

    He is doing much better now, I just want to know what I could do to plump him up a little ya know? Is there a specific kind of vegetable or other gut load ingredient that would plump him up faster? I mentioned in the initial post on this thread, would it be okay to feed him more super worms...

    during this time period I tried horns and supers when he stopped eating crickets but he wasn't interested.

    I can't get roaches here in Canada :'(. The only feeders I can get my hands on are silks, horns, supers, and crickets

    he literally had a "hunger strike" for 13 weeks total, i am pretty sure he would have died if he didn't eat for 3 months, i think he only ate a cricket here and there to stay alive.

    he didn't always eat 1-2 a week, there were definitely several 2 week long periods when he didn't eat anything, but yes, I think i will try and get a decal done soon.

    I COULD try silkworms, the closest place to me that sells them is a 2 hour bus ride away though, and I don't drive. I get horns at petsmart a 15min walk from my home, and yes the crickets are always well fed :) thanks.

    His hunger strike lasted from april to june, during this time period he was only consuming 1-2 crickets a WEEK. His hunger strike "ended" 4 days ago and he's been eating 6-7 large crickets a day, today he ate 9 large crickets. Also, I will post some pics of Blood tomorrow, I had a really busy...
