I'm not in the market today, but wanted to put out some feelers to see if anyone is working with K. Boehmei and has sexually mature males or females that would be available this summer. I have 3 three holdbacks from 2020 clutch, and am contemplating finding either a male or female mate to...
Are you sure that is not a crested gecko? !
I can’t say I have seen that level of enthusiasm from my Kinyongia Boehmei, but they are certainly the most acrobatic of my chameleons! They do make mini leaps of faith from branch to branch, but their extra long tails are always still anchoring them.
I wouldnt use the reptaid after antibiotics. Just over medicating and risking stress on the kidneys.
I do keep it on hand for emergencies, but always hydrate With the longest mist session possible. My vet cautions that it can cause alcohol toxicity if used incorrectly or for more than a few...
That color looks normal. I use reptaid myself. I believe what’s in the smaller vial is the alcohol suspension liquid… Or maybe that’s vice versa. I believe that they separate the ingredients because once you mix them the shelf life is not as long. That is my guess.
Sometimes I see a little bit...
I think that's the stuff! I got samples in varying thicknesses from 10 up to like 40, and I still couldn't tell / decide which was the right thickness! How was your experience working with it? Were you able to get it nice and taught, or did you use heat to do that? I'm planning to eventually...
Let me first say - I love my large Dragonstrand Clearside Atriums. I have several of the older versions, prior to the redesign and new latches. I, too, was on the hunt for another large Atrium and had trouble finding even the newest version. I am sure the pandemic has made it very difficult...
Ah, Ok! For some reason I thought you said fungus was on the leaves, and I was a little concerned after seeing the photo - but perfectly normal to have fungus sprout from the soil. Im happy to find mushrooms sprouting up as it shows my soil is going through natural cycles.
also - what does the fungus look like on your leaves? if it is black spots, its probably black sooty mold, which is a side effect of plant pests. Usually the typical fungus blooms happen at the soil level, not on the leaves - although if the air is too stagnant, you can certainly get fungal...
without getting into the husbandry side, I've got a few suggestions. I, too, use Dragonstrand clearside enclosures, which offer great ventilation and humidity balance. Mine have a screen on the top and the right side.
My technique for various species is to mist for about a minute just after...
Interesting! I noticed signs at the grocery store for distilled water at $2.50 a gallon (usually $1.15). They're still ringing up as $1.15, but I am switching to tap and will deal wtih the water stains in spring. Once spring rolls around, my local grocery store has a RO water machine where...
I always have such a battle with scale and schefflera, but they do make great cham plants. Their stems make great (live) branches and the leaves are great for feeding and dinking
They all behave differently with the syringe. Some don’t care at all, some spot it in my hand and know exactly what Im up to (but they’ll take the silkworm bait eventually), and some seem to eagerly drink from it.
Layla here is super slow poke… takes her a moment to get moving, especially in...
