Acanthosaura Capra, funky eating and broken arm

he's been eating anywhere from 1-10 crickets a day depending on his mood, and around three portions of chopped superworms as well. I got him a bubbler and the first thing he did was investigate it so hopefully he'll start drinking from it.

Acanthosaura Capra, funky eating and broken arm

Thank you! I havent tried the bubbler yet, i’ll pick one up tomorrow! As for his arm i’ve been trying to find a vet to see him and theyve all said the best they can do is guess. At most i know its a humeral fracture and a splint would make it worse :/

Acanthosaura Capra, funky eating and broken arm

I’ve got a juvenile male Mountain Horned Dragon, Acanthosaura Capra, who came in with a broken arm and eats a little odd. Ive been attempting to set up a vet appointment for the little guy for his arm, but his eating and drinking seem off. He refuses any cricket or chopped up worm until i dangle...

Baytril usually has an expiration date on the tube or box in my experience. Best to get fresh medicine, especially with perishable ones

    10 year-old buying chameleon

As someone who started keeping at 14, I figured I'd chip in my two cents. Chameleons are expensive and an incredible time requirement. Flower and Pete, my first and second chameleons, are the perfect example of why you should never get a chameleon young. Flower came with an diagnoseable eye...

Anyone used “the turtle store.com” to order cham babies?

If you buy from them, you are in fact wasting your mom's money. Parasite-ridden, wild caught animals in unacceptable care for an indefinite time, with the only pro being a low price. If anything, the low price is a warning. The animal will die, and I'd be willing to bet money. Reputable breeders...

    Tribute to Hank

Jann, i’m so, so sorry for your loss. Hank was an incredible little chameleon and he’ll forever be in your heart. He was unmatchably beautiful and such an amazing animal. His memory will be eternal, through the memories shared with him, and his offspring as well. Sending my biggest hugs and...

Changing behaviors, fluctuating fat pads in the crest, and possibilities with lowering stress with handling?

I've tried, but he either flares up or ignores it. I've even tried just leaving the cage open and sitting on the other side of the room, but he prefers to remain in his basking spot or hiding in the ficus tree.

Changing behaviors, fluctuating fat pads in the crest, and possibilities with lowering stress with handling?

Hey, its been awhile! Watson's going to be reaching two years this summer, but recently his behaviors have begun to change with this winter here in Cali. He's stopped eating from his feeding cup, a full throttle feeder's cup in brown, and begun to patrol the bottom of his cage for crickets and...

    Hank and Emma baby thread!

Watson has been doing incredible and continues to be an absolute stunner! His color has continued to amaze me and it seems his disdain for cameras will never end. I cant wait to continue to work with this wonderful lil man and to keep watching him grow!

Bulging eyes and lethargic weak please help!

I've taken my chameleons to Berkely Dog and Cat, and her progression took around 4-5 months before it became an open wound. I'm not sure of any places, but @jannb is incredibly good at finding veterinary care and i'd trust what she recommends.

Bulging eyes and lethargic weak please help!

I had no idea he passed, unfortunately. Last time i went to the Berkeley vet, however, i believe he was out on holiday and it was one of his vet techs that ran Pete’s acupuncture that day. Eye issues are a terrifying occurrence, and unfortunately i do have experience with such. Flower suffered...

    Hank and Emma baby thread!

Happy hatch day to my beautiful boy in blue! Little Watson has grown so much, and his blues have become absolutely gorgeous. He’s a bit camera shy, but he’s as sweet as can be. He eats from my hand, sits on my head, and loves his time on his dracaena. Its been amazing to watch him grow, and...

    Im back!

Welcome back! It's awful that people are treating you like that, but just remember that by the time they realize what an awesome person you are you'll already be miles ahead of them. As somebody who has dealt with that in the past (two even made accounts to harass me on the forum), always...
