I have given serious thought to a garter snake. Watching Snake Discovery on YouTube and they even say they can eat Reptilinks for added full nutrition instead of mice.

Jackson's do pass slugs or unfertilized ova. I can't tell from the picture but here is something you can compare it to. https://www.chameleonforums.com/threads/trioceros-jacksonii-xantholophus-slugs.86706/

    4 Month Old Hoehnelli

It's not storing sperm, Hoehnelii have a 5-6 month gestation period. They do store sperm, with ovoviperous species you'll get 2 clutches. Second clutch will have fewer fertile eggs, more slugs. Third clutch is pushing it.

I have what I thought was a Male Jacksons chameleon...that passed 4 slugs over the past two days; this may sound like a dumb question, but is it possible for males to drop slugs...?

She has a touch of edema but she's also been well fed so it might be a bit fat too. Glad to hear it's going down. Females can get a touch of edema before they pass slugs or have babies.

Why my Jackson’s looks like this

Not entirely sure. I had mine for a few weeks before she started passing slugs. She ended up passing away shortly after. I had picked her up from Petsmart because I didnt want to see her suffer in a tiny acrylic tank. Be ready to feed hungry little jacksons if she does give birth. Start to read...
