    Is my Jacksons Chameleon pregnant??

I can't tell if she is going to pass slugs or have babies but eventually something will have to pass. If all you find are yellow tiny egg yolk looking things then she wasn't pregnant. Resource Link - Picture Of A "Slug", by Solid Snake

    Jackson's Subspecies

I'm at a loss about her side popping? Usually at the end of the birthing they may pass a few yellow slugs, egg yolk like things. they can turn white if they get wet. Popping open sounds surgical at best I hope they can do something for her.

...I would still use the leaf litter. One, as hiding place for the CuC, two, as an extra food source and three, pure aesthetic. I also ditch all plant waste matters at the bottom and let the crew do their thing, I really try maintain a natural cyclus. Also got worms, beetles, slugs in the soil.

    Is my Jacksons Chameleon pregnant??

Is it normal that she has her eyes closed during the day? For the last couple hours her eyes have been closed. She did eat last night and drank this morning.

Some interesting wild grow is happening, this plant (red arrow) sat in the opposite corner and died. Also the clean-up crew is pretty hungry (and damn slugs)....

Thanks. Don’t know, I think it came in the soil or with a plant. Luckily, it’s less worst then a few weeks ago, at was a real plague.

Female Jackson’s Chameleon sleeping during the day

They don’t lay eggs, they Are live bearers which means the babies are born alive and independent. They can however pass slugs which are underdeveloped embreyos.

Yeah beer traps are supposed to work well, they’re actually bad to use in gardens(enclosure would be different) because they just attract slugs from all over and bring even more to your yard. Where I live we have tons of worms, slugs, and salamanders… find them everywhere I look lol. Yeah...

    Slugs

...enclosure and planting it in one of my enclosures inside. There must have been some hitchhikers on the baby tears. I noticed some decent sized slugs in the inside enclosure about a month after, I’m guessing the baby tears had eggs on it. I would remove them when the lights were off and the...

Absolutely (y) only got a slug problem  Trying to get rid of them with putting lettuce on bottom and take them out.

...be a little taboo to recommend, but I think you might be able to pull it off… what about considering some sort of nocturnal toad to handle the slugs and keep the worms in check. I don’t say that lightly, but you’re a committed keeper… I think you’re capable of considering all of the variables...

    New CB OE Parsons keeper

That would have freaked me out as well. Also got earth worms in the bottom, but it was planned. The slugs I’ve already tried to get rid of them with beer traps and everything, but they’re harsh. Have seen one crawling on Neo a few times already 😕

    New CB OE Parsons keeper

I had the same issue with my habitat , opened up the kids one day, and there was one on Andres face ,,. Of course I freaked out. Went through the entire enclosure, most of them that much more than a half inch but there was probably 20. Remove them all haven’t seen one sense but now I’m seeing...

On this episode of keeping up with the Joneses

I knew they gave live birth but I thought slugs were expelled only while giving birth to live young, not at any other time. The slugs are just the young that didn’t develop like an egg that doesn’t develop. So then do the female Jackson’s chams in general birth slugs at any time if they aren’t...

If she turns sideways and starts gaping and rocking back and forth take him out wait several days before trying again. If she passes slugs she will be receptive about 7-14 days after.

    Is my Jacksons Chameleon pregnant??

...don't wander the bottom usually before they give birth. That is more of an egg layer thing to do. Mine will go to a high corner or vertical branch to deliver. Most chain pet store female Jax are pregnant. I'm amazed it's been a year with no undeveloped ova (slugs) or babies, though it does...
