What is this and why is this happening?

I found this out of shell slug looking thing in my chameleons cage when cleaning it out. It broke upon the touch of some tweezers and is really stuck to the paper towel. Someone help please!

I don’t know I have never had a uni start to grow orbital horns as an adult. I know she is a female because she’s passed slugs. The growth spurt seems to correspond with her passing slugs. Can’t be sure.

What is this and why is this happening?

Sometimes the poops can be covered in a mucous layer, which would have looked a lot like a slug. There’s a poop thread and I’m sure you can find one similar there. I do think having a fecal parasite check is always a good idea. https://www.chameleonforums.com/threads/chameleon-poop-101.120171/

Her poop is actually alot larger than that, Ik the pic is rlly bad and the napkins dirty but when I first noticed it, it looked like a slug was just resting in the middle of her enclosure

NEED help chameleons not eating !

Yes, those are slugs or unfertilized ova. I don't like that odd shaped one. I would watch her closely. She may not eat for a day but her appetite should pick up quickly after that. Give her plenty of opportunities to drink with a dripper or hand misting.

    Slugs in bio active enclosure

Thanks appreciate that! What king of isopods you have that hangout under the cork bark? I have a bunch of huge seed pods and other things lying around that they could hide under but never find them. Also my drainage layer would be so hard to get to. I put a bulkhead on the bottom and a pvc...

    Chameleon eggs splitting.

I have not raise a cham egg. But i got split reptile eggs due to fert eggs rotting. The egg would die, and burst from the outgassing/swelling. Slugs on the other hand never swelled/burst/split, they just rotted and collapsed.

...all over the enclosure and frequently wanted to get out of it (i think they call it the receptive period) and i learned that chameleons can eat slugs and snails and snails are a really good source of calcium with their shells should i bring her a small one after she lays her eggs to recover...

    Spots in poop?

...Basil(around 1 1/2 years old) recently pooped but there is something clearly wrong with it. It has spots and odd circles in it. It’s not slugs because all her other slugs haven’t looked like this at all. I looked up parasites and all I could find were worms that were long and thin. These are...

...to, especially for an insect eating animal. The problem is when bacteria gets in wounds and such where it can go wild. With that said, snails/slugs should not be fed wild caught as they can carry rat lungworm which is not species specific. Probably other parasites they carry too, but that’s...
