    Cost of keeping chameleon

After the initial set up costs, I tend to buy 40-50 crickets a week and 40-50 kingworms which comes to about $4.00-$6.00 or so. But this feeds both my chameleon and my gecko. I also treat them with Silkies every couple of weeks but they go for .50 -.70 cents each worm so I only treat them once...

Safe antibiotic for 3.5 month Panther Chameleon

Hi, I brought my veiled in to the Vet back in June because her eye was swollen. During her shedding she irritated it and so it was swelled a bit. The Vet gave me Baytril and I had to give her some every day for 3 weeks or so. This worked really well. Not sure if that is what you need here...

    Male or Female Veiled...

I am a teacher but my chameleon was at home (and a male one too. :). After a lot of research I knew I wouldn't want a chameleon in my classroom because of the constant traffic, stress of visitors etc. So she never left my house. She could have been egg-bound. I truly hope not as I was not...

    Male or Female Veiled...

I was wondering if I could gauge your opinions on which would be best to own. A male or a female veiled chameleon. I had a female named Cleo but she passed away on me over a month ago or so. I was about to leave for school (I'm a teacher) and she was dead in her cage. I double checked...

    Changing Colour Question

Thanks for your replies and the photographs. Those are some beauty pictures. If Clea changes to other drastic colours or not, either way, I simply adore her. Thanks again.

    Changing Colour Question

Hi, My chameleon, Cleo, is a few months old now. She is a beautiful green colour and when she changes colours she has dark green stripes and spots on her. Since I am pretty new to the chameleon world, I was wondering if she will ever have any other colours other than green (blues, reds...

    One Eye Closed...

Update Brought my Cham to the vet today. She said that other then the minor eye infection, she is one of the healthiest chameleons brought in here. That was a relief. She gave me some Baytril to give to her everyday for the next 3 weeks to ensure that every ounce of illness has left her...

    One Eye Closed...

So I should have a nesting area set up for her so she can lay eggs too? Are chameleons like chickens that way, they lay unfertilized eggs?

    One Eye Closed...

Hi again, Water: You state that the waterfall is not recommended, but we have a pretty dry climate up here so I am worried that it will reduce the humidity too much. Should I just take out the waterfall and watch the humidity levels for a few days and see if they change that much (if at...

    One Eye Closed...

Hi, New to the forum, but have been lurking for over a month now. I got my veiled Chameleon about a month ago and have found this forum very helpful thus far. A few days ago I found that she has not opened her left eye. It is always closed now. She is eating regularly, the temp and...
