    is this a food source?

    they look exactly like my darkling beetles, i've never fed them myself, but they should be fine. also the red is when they are a couple days after they emerge from their pupation phase. they are actually cream/white when they come out, then become a reddish brown, then finally black

    I'd say it was no older than a month and a half when it was sold to you, the second picture looks like a few of mine and they are about a 5 weeks old but i do have to mention that my babies are already of noticeably different sizes despite all hatching within 2 days of eachother

    I actually keep mine in screened cage, i also put bananas on the leaves on the inside of the tub so that the flies are attracted to those banana slices so they stay inside. then the chams pick them off the banana (I also put calcium on the bananas so they get their bit of calcium when they eat too)
