charlee’s been doing great so far, been a while since we posted anything. He’s gotten bigger, and so has his home.
here are some pics of his new cage setup.
couple things we have changed,
we are going from x2 5.0 repti sun bulbs to x1 10.0 HO t5 which is on its way in the mail for his new...
Not sure if someone came up with this idea already or has been having there same issue as me but...
so my problem was that I have a big plant for my cham which is the only real plant in there since it’s has huge leaves for water drinking and keeping the humidity up in good temps and helps him...
From researching, some say 40 - 60 or 40 - 70
My target was to get it stable at 55-60 (without misting) and its doing well during the day (I always mist right after the lights come on 10am), and when I come home 7 hours later, its at 55% or 60% and at night its 57%-60% if my memory serves me...
Hey, its been 6 days now, since we got our new cham, and iv'e pretty much have a setup where the cage has stable temps and humidity.
Question:
1.If my humidity is stable, is there a need to spray the enclosure, except to spray him for his eye cleaning and watering the plant of course ? he has...
Update:
charlee now has 2 linear fixtures with Reptisun UVB 5.0 ‘s (once it’s time to replace these i will get the T5HO bulbs that should give me enough time to save up $$ to get them)
I also added a middle leve Thermometer which is 73.F.
The baskin bulb i have now is getting his basking spot...
dont know what cricket crack is, but sounds like some marketing thing someone here makes, ill just stick with the sandy fluke cricket stuff along with some fruits etc... and keep the orange stuff in case i run out of inventory..
seems like you guys dont buy nothing at the pet store, everything...
yep it’s the orange stuff i also use the sandy type stuff too but the orange stuff has water and calcium already in it but i give the crickets to choose both.
I guess i can add some
fruit in thier too. we’re keeping them in thier own cricket cage for storage
does anybody know what’s better to...
its been 3 days and charlee seems to be getting ok with his new home he’s eating a lot more esp when we aren’t in front of his face and he’s starting to pick his fav spots to hide and sleep and just get some uvb.
just got a new linear fixture that came with a bulb that that’s only temp getting...
yea for some reason these crickets didnt like climbing up the cage, and if they did, they didnt go high enough,, they just got lost in the plants but, charlee is eating a lot more now, since he can see his food and easily get to it, it was fun watching him eat for the first couple times... i...
then why have i seen videos of people being successful with thier cham and they started out just like me with the same cage kit and bulbs?
eventually yes i will get a linear bulb, but even on the ASQ on this forums it clearly says, for the size of my cham, cage is ok for 16 x 16 x 30 ?? care to...
yea sounds pretty negative and over the top, he's still young based on his size im guessing 3-4 months old, so the size of cage im sure is fine for a while, im well aware he needs a better UVB bulb, but everything else you said was just too much. I saw his enclosure and the store actually uses...
I used a mesh screen material for windows from homedepot and a fiji water bottle for the cool tropical background.
Since charlee is still new to his new home, he never visits the bottom of the cage, so feeding him from the bottom he wasn't able to see his food, so i thought i would make a...
yea i figured that after misting the humidity will shoot up, but after an hour or two humidity in charlee's cage stays at 70-80 then after that drops down to 60.
