I also keep my house pretty warm for him already, so his heat lamp doesn’t get used too often.

    Damage to crest

He could have, but his heat bulb was off at the time. I’m pretty sure it’s a 75 watt - I can’t take a picture right now, but there’s at least 7 inches between him and the bulb - last night I helped him with some stuck shed and there wasn’t anything there- I’m super worried because there isn’t a...

    Damage to crest

Hi- I don’t think it is thermal burn, I was handling him less than 10 minute before & hadn’t noticed anything. His lamp is relatively low temp and he can’t get close enough to the bulb to hurt himself. I’ve had him for a year & I haven’t changed his setup at all.

    Damage to crest

Hi- I just remodeled my chameleon enclosure & put him back in. I walked away to get some bugs to feed him & when I came back, it looked like he caught himself on something & cut all the way through his crest. It’s still intact, but it’s pretty ugly & I’m worried. What do I do?

    Chameleon twitching

Hi- I have a 8 month old chameleon. He’s always been healthy & there’s not been anything out of the norm with him. He fell asleep on a plant in my living room & he is twitching his head in his sleep. Does anyone know what it means?

    Veiled Chameleon staple food issue

Fruit flies are great, they usually sell them at petco. Just to be clear on somethings I mentioned earlier, you CAN feed meal worms. It just isn't recommended because they can be hard to digest. It won't hurt your cham, I just wouldn't use it ask a staple feeder. Fruits and veggies are great...

    Veiled Chameleon staple food issue

You are not supposed to feed your chameleon mealworms. The exoskeleton is hard for them to digest.

    Veiled Chameleon staple food issue

Hi, I would stop feeding him fruits as soon as possible. I would cut them out completely for at least a month. They are safe, but they they can affect their health after a while (especially bananas.) You can always order feeder insects online. For the time being, I would add some veggies into...

Opinion on when to get plants

Hi, getting plants sooner is better. I suggest doing the double pot method (you can look it up on YouTube) that way if a plant dies you can prep and replace it easily!

Chameleon Sitting with mouth open also green ish mouth ?

Hi, Try turning off the heat bulb for a while. If it continues even when the enclosure is cooled, you might have to worry about URI. If it stops when the light is off, the enclosure is too hot and you should adjust accordingly.

Chameleon fell - what to watch for

Hi, Chameleons can usually handle falls really well. Most of the time if there is something wrong, you will know. Look out for abnormal movement, poor balance, poor apatite, etc. Chams sometimes vomit after falls, but they are usually fine after. Keep a close eye on him, but I think you will be...
