drip recover

Look closely and you will see two yellow arrows. One points to the tip of the water dripping tube and the other to the "drip recovery unit" Doesn't that sound official? The "unit" is a pint Mason Jar with panty hose over the top and the Mason Jar top screwed over the hosiery. This catches all of the water that my chameleon doesn't drink, which is usually 10 drops out of 1 1/2 cups of water. The panty hose top keeps her from getting nosy and crawling into the jar, where she might drown. Never keep an open container in your chameleons enclosure. They only drink drips from something like a "Little Dipper" or "dew" from the plants after misting, as it drips from the leaves. Chameleons generally do not drink water from a container such as a bowl or from a pond.
