Poppi is a big girl now!

At a year and a month, Poppi laid 34 eggs! So we have survived the egg laying, so far...

She has not been doing as well as I could hope. She has been to the vet because she is keeping one eye closed all of the time. Doc thinks maybe she got some sand in it and that it got a bit infected. So, after a dose of Baytril and daily levage, she still keeps that eye closed.

Because she doesn't see properly, she cannot catch her crickets. She can manage to catch the mealies in her bowl but she would rather eat crickets so I have to hand feed her those.

Other than her eye issue, I am really worried about hydration. She absolutely refuses water if I drip it on her nose, and I don't know how much she is drinking from her dripper. No poop for a week now because she wouldn't eat before she laid her eggs. I did find a bit of urate and it wasn't very yellow but I have been injecting the crix with a bit of water and calcium.

I just hope she gets back the use of that eye. She was fairly sociable before the vet trip but since then and the egg laying, she has been very stand-offish and not happy to see me unless it is to feed her crix.
