Zilla Screen Habitat

So I setup a home for my ambilobe panther chameleon. It is the Zilla Screen habitat. Dimensions are 18"wide by 30" long by 30" tall.

There is a scheflera plant and also an umbrella plant. What I am wondering is what do you recommend to light the habitat? Couple of dome fixtures? An actual fixture to run a linear uvb bulb? Any and all suggestions and why will be greatly appreciated.

I recommend a dome fixture for the basking bulb, which can be a regular incandescent bulb or a halogen flood bulb (40W, 60W, 100W or whatever wattage you need to get the right basking temps). Additionally I recommend a fixture for a linear tube style UVB light (long enough to run the width of your enclosure). Recommended bulb would be a ZooMed Reptisun 5.0. Some people will use a double tube florescent fixture and add a 6500K grow light for plants, but that is optional. The UV light is NOT optional. Hope this helps!

I am running a fixture kind of similar right now except it's not long enough. Only 24" long. Thanks for the tip.

If you have a 24" fixture I wouldn't necessarily run out to get a longer one. Just put your basking light near it and the cham will bask in both the heat and the light.

6" is not going to make that much difference. Just make sure to replace your UVB bulb every 6 months as recommended.
