This worm or caterpillar was hanging on a thread like a spider as I usually see them do in summer, it doesn't arch it's back like an inchworm but it looks like one. I can't upload pics but any idea what it is what if it's edible for chameleons?

Is it a Green fruitworm, Othosia hibisci (Guenee)
if so, yes those are safe for chameleons to eat (provided no pesticide/herbicide has been in use)
Leaf rollers are also safe.

Im pretty sure it's a Tent Caterpiller.. especially for your area.. And i think from SolidSnake's thread we have concluded not to feed.

Trust me.. I know ALL about tents. Those little a-holes. There's two caterpillars around here, the spiky ones and the fuzzy ones. You can't tell which are nice until it's too late. Those spikes HURT man. I once leaned onto one and got a bunch of spikes that looked like a smiley face though.

Is it easy to bread leaf rollers? Do you know their nutritional value?

Their nutritional value is somewhat based on the host plant / what they've been eating. Given that they basically eat "leafy greens" and fruit, they're a good little addition, in my view. I think of them something like a small hornworm in terms of value.

I spend a good deal of time trying to rid my trees of these little pests (organically) and so have never considered purposefully breeding them.

The larva and the moths do make good treats - my chameleons and frogs always enjoy them when in season.
