Is this weird?

I've been prepping for a new Cham even though Simon passed just today. I don't plan on getting her today, but Monday. Is this bad? I truly truly miss simon, but I really just want to prove myself I can take care of them. Does anybody else have this feeling when they lose a pet/Cham?

So sorry to hear that you lost Simon. I'm always to sad to get another right away. I would recommend you put an extra good cleaning on the cage and getting new plants, vines and branches if you are planning on putting the new one in Simon's cage.

I've found that it helps me put some closure on a loss if I clean and dismantle the cage or put away their things. I don't have the visual reminder that keeps hurting, it gets cleaned and any disease concerns get taken care of, I sort of say a last goodbye, and I can do the experimental re-design or improvements that couldn't be done when the cham was in it. It isn't denial or being unfeeling at all. Everyone grieves a pet differently and for different lengths of time. Sometimes I'm ready to find another one and other times I wait a lot longer.
