Vivarium & egg-laying shots

And because I am often asked how I nest my carpets...

Here is one of my girls nesting today-laying 4th generation eggs...It is the girl in the back

Digging...

The final number was 17 eggs. I generally use a 40 watt bulb over the laying bin just as i do on the cage...however, a 60 watt will work too over one corner of the bucket.

Kevin I now see why it took bloodly well forever for you to get all your viv's ready. Those are works of art. Reallynlook nice.

You did a great job with those. Can I also ask where you found the cork sheets. I have looked for then but have been unable to find a source.

They are somewhat expensive and harder to find than I had hoped. A.C. Moore carries them and Hobby Lobby as well...but not Michael's in my area at least. Unfortunately, neither store carried more than 1 package at a time and I had to buy them online at Hobby Lobby's website.

Here's the link:

I tried to find them first on Amazon or eBay but didn't find a better price anywhere.

All you have to do is use silicone sealant in a caulking gun to stick them up.

holly carb batman, thats some nice looking terrariums, how long have you been using them? notice anything different from the usually clean bottom?

Awesome looking vivariums Kevin! Beautiful girls! I just love the egg laying shots.

Thanks Jann,

It was 16F this morning and I hate this frigid weather so it's nice to have a bit of the tropics inside. That is this girl's second clutch. I don't usually watch them but found it funny that she dug a sizeable hole and then laid the eggs halfway up the tunnel instead of the bottom of it.

Very nice vivs and great pics of your female laying. Carpets are really cool chams. I love how they colors up like a million jewels are bedazzled on to their body. Great job!!!!
