I was wondering what kind of lighting setup you guys are using for your uvb. I'm planing on getting a hood over a lamp and was wondering if you have any suggestions on what kind of tube/hood I should get.

I was planning on getting a zilla hood that comes with a tropical uvb tube included already but I have been reading they are no good?

best option.. using t5 More energy efficient.. 5.0 or perhaps 10 depending on distance.. but a DUAL fixture.. is better, so one can add a 6500 plant bulb too..

the bulb issues have not been a problem of late.. but a linear offers more area of coverage.. compacts may be fine, but really depends on your cage size.. a spot of UVB not ideal!

The zilla fixtures still come with a plastic cover..so do others.. GOT TO REMOVE that.. VERY IMPORTANT!!!.. otherwise not a bad fixture.. performance wise.. what bulb you put in it will be the big factor.. but they work don't die and fail right off..

check out LYR, light your reptiles.. they offer arcadia bulbs.. they last a year not six months like the traditional UVB bulbs. also offer dual fixtures with plant bulbs too!

T5 bulbs, dual fixtures.. way to go.. one has to one save on energy, but not only address the chams needs, but the living plants too :)
