so, i know there are tones of threads about this, but in all of them it says "change it after 6 months", but there is actually some real signs of the light 'going bad' ? how should i know if it still provides enough UVB or not ?

You will need to get a UVB meter. Otherwise there is no way of telling.

Exactly. That's why it tends to be a shorter time period than it might be if you could measure it - some bulbs burn out a bit faster with the UVB than others, but there's no way to tell.

Better safe than sorry!

hmmm, that sucks, so instead of buying a UVB meter (which i guess is more expensive than the actual UVB) i should buy a UVB every 6 months ...
about that ... when i got the first UVB light, the bulbs were like ... 5.0 or 10.0 and i bought the 5.0, 26W, but now i've seen them with other measurements ?!
what should i buy ?
