Up all night

Got home last night and went to water the chameleons and caught my female N.faly digging a hole. When I woke up she was patting the soil down so there I was retrieving eggs at 6:00 AM this morning before work. And to top it off it was a feeding day.

Why is it that we cant let the eggs stay in the dirt and hatch naturally?? Never understood why we remove them and what not. Is it just for safe practice?

We remove the eggs for many reasons. Its a safer environment basically no insects or over watering will kill the eggs not to mention a more consistent incubation temperature.
No mitsios yet still working on that one.

Chamero said..."Why is it that we cant let the eggs stay in the dirt and hatch naturally?? Never understood why we remove them and what not. Is it just for safe practice?"...its hard to keep the moisture level right and to some extent the temperature too...so I guess you could say its a risk.
