Type of hose for DIY misting system?

I'll just cut to the chase.

I bought some fuel vapor hose to use in a DIY misting system but got to thinking about the health of my chameleon. I was wondering if anyone knew if this type of hose would be safe or if I should get some other type of hose. I work at an auto parts store so this type of hose is cheap for me to get but I'll buy something else if my chameleons health would be at risk with this type of hose.

I am not sure about how safe that would be for your cham. I use black tubing made by RainBird. I got it at Home depot. It is made for drip irrigation systems and works great. I have been using it for almost a year now with zero problems.

Depends on what it is made of. Poly drip tubing is what I use.

I would just consider it a black rubber hose, I guess I'm just worried about what kind of chemicals, if any, could leach out into the water and possibly be a health concern. I'm sure there's food grade hose that can be used without concern it's just a matter of finding it.

Never heard of a problem with using black poly tubing and it's dirt cheap. If concerned, you could use PEX.

It is a little hard for me to think right this second (NORMAL) as just waking, but would think fuel hose might be safe. It would have to be super corrosive resistant, to be a fuel line carrier. (Or would be just the opposite and toxic. Like I said, those of you awake and able to think already can put 2 + 2 together, can easily figure it out) I would definitely think on the safe side though. I tend to purchase what is called "drinking water safe" products from home depot or lowes, when needing to carry water for the reptiles.

Just don't use anything that light can get through. It promotes algae formation.

Any type of vacuum hose would be fine to use like a 1/4 inch hose that you would find connecting your fuel pressure regulator to your intake manifold, that style would be perfectly fine to use. Ive used larger vacuum lines for other animal purposes and have never ever had a sick animal because of my various watering methods.

Im both a licensed ASE mechanic and animal lover lol so you'll be good would love to see what you come up with, take pictures when your done.
