Trixxis' new uvb light

Ronnie, do you use the lighting unit in the 3rd pic? It's a compact bulb fixture - they have been known to cause eye problems. Please don't use it! The UV bulb should be of the linear/tube kind.

Sorry, you edited your post! Forget what I just said, lol!

I use a ReptiGlo 10.0 as the screent top of the cage is quite thick.

With the style ballast you have with your new UVB, there is no fixture or reflector pushing the light downward - if you are able to some how get a reflector above it, this may lighten up the enclosure and ensure your cham is getting enough UVB exposure.

I wonder if with your old fixture in the 3rd pic (minus bulbs of course) if there is a way to set that above to help reflect down?? I've never used the style ballast you have so cannot give experienced info regarding how to set up. Maybe other members who are using that style may have a better suggestion.

Good job getting proper UVB lighting... your cham will be much happier & healthier :)

I'm not sure. I've only ever used the reptiglo tube lights, but I believe that the reptisuns have a brighter light, although they are more expensive. Can't help with that one as i've never known any different to what I've used, sorry!

I have taken out the bulbs from the old hood that i used and put the hood over the new tube uvb and it has brightened up the viv a small bit,but it is still pretty dark in there and blue looking,is this how it should be looking?
