Time for Celebration! Emma and Nolan's first baby!

My ambilobe pair (both Kammer-line): Emma (sire is Noki, grandsire is Iron Man) and Nolan (sire is Line Drive), produced their first clutch of 25 eggs last summer, but due to my inexperience, I was only able to save one viable egg. Well, nearly 10 months later this little guy or gal hatched yesterday. I thought she was dead since this was my first hatchling, but she moved around gradually and then climbed a small branch and colored up nicely. Apparently exhausted from the effort, she was sleeping when I got this picture. Emma laid another clutch two months later and all 30 eggs look good. I wasn't really trying to start a breeding project and I just love Emma, so I never put them together again. Much to my surprise, she laid another clutch about a month ago (nearly a year since their last mating). I thought the eggs would be infertile, but 18 of the 25 eggs I found seem to be developing.

I really hope this little on makes it. Based on her parents and grandparents, I know she'll be beautiful and I plan to keep her. If I have success with the larger clutch, I will be offering a number for sale, especially since they have quality bloodlines that are well documented. If anyone wants to pre-order any of the babies, feel free to contact me.

Babies from Kammers lines are always top Class. Your chams sure show that. The female is exceptional, You have to love a female that beautiful.

Congratulations on your new little one. :) He or she is sooo cute, all tuckered out and napping. With genes from such gorgeous parents, those babies are going to be amazing!

Here are some pictures of little Zoey at one week Saturday morning. I'm pretty sure she is a she :). My only concern is that I haven't seen her eat or drink. I have plenty of food available - ffs, pinhead crickets and dwarf white isopods. I also mist regularly and drip warm water on the little ficus stems where she often perches. She climbs close to the light to bask daily.

Although you can see her ribs in the photos, from above she doesn't look notably thin, but this is my first panther hatchling, so I'm not sure. On the other hand, if she wasn't eating or drinking, I wouldn't expect her to live this long.

Any thoughts?

Great point! I feel dumb not thinking of it. I haven't seen any, but she perches over the potted plant and would poop in the soil. I could cover the soil with tissue or something and try to catch the poop.
She s a little doll! Do you see any poops in her enclosure?

awesome

So she is the lone survivor of the clutch .
must be special girl
the second pic is so cool ,,,!.

She was actually the only surviving egg. Emma layed some of the eggs on the bottom of the enclosure and they dried before I got to them and the rest were infertile. Emma did much better with her second clutch. She used the laying bin and I have 30 good eggs cooking and only lost a couple. They should be hatching by June.

Zoey is a special little girl and I plan on keeping her. :)

Zoey is still doing well and I actually caught her drinking the other day. She'll be two weeks old tomorrow, so I'll get some more photos posted.

It's very exciting! :D
