Thinking about starting a dubia colony... Advice please?

Hi guys Im starting to not like crickets.... They smell like hell -.- so I was thinking bout dubia roaches? I have a fear of roaches but that's not gonna stop me from buying them ;) anyways how do I start a colony anyways? I heard it's SUPER easy to take care of and MUCH cleaner than crickets.... I would love if someone would give me really good details on how to raise a dubia colony :) thanks guys

I recently started a colony (new to the roaches to), you wont regret it. They dont smell, and are so easy! they've been in the same container for over a month without cleaning and still just smells like coconut fiber!
They are pretty slow and cant climb so you dont have to worry about escapees like crickets
Just feed them, and keep them warm (like 90-95)
i started with just 100 mixed mediums about a month ago just to try it out and i haven't been disappointing! im starting to see little babies in there now!

watch the classifieds on here many people trying to thin the herd :D

I just started a colony and my chameleons don't like them ( I am bummed) you might want to try feeding them some before starting a colony just to make sure, I wish I did

Getting a colony to kick off and really start producing takes some time. The more you start off with, the quicker your colony will start to grow. I would say start with more like 100.

I got 10 breeding pair ( 20 adults ) a month ago and am starting to get babies now. I guess it depends on how many animals you have to feed.

I started with a few females and a couple of males and didn't start getting babies until a month after... I slowly started buying and adding more Dubia to the colony and it has gotten a lot bigger. I have had my colony for about 5 months but I am still letting it establish. It'll take a while but it'll pay off in the long run, still waiting for that "BOOM" people keep talking about. :D

I started with 5 breeding pair and 50 mixed. The breeder was awesome enough to give me females that were about to birth. It took a few months for me to feed them all off.

I bought 5 more breeding pairs (10 total), and 50 more mixxed. My colony went absolutely nuts. There's no way I will ever have to buy a feeder again.

I just use oranges to feed them. No water at all either.
