Things to avoid with new enclosure, Panther

So, I'm trying to make sure I am getting everything right:

No sitting water.

No "media" on bottom of enclosure.

No pesticides/chemicals.

What else?

I'm also trying to have all the do's covered: UVB basking area, cool spots, live plants, gut loaded insects, good variety, daily mistings, drip system if I'll be gone most of the day, some day light exposure when possible.

Are there any other suggestions or things I am missing?

I washed off the Pathos I have in there, and it is so thick he can't reach the soil. Should I repot this anyway? Should I cover the soil with something?

Thanks everyone!!

I believe you do want to cover the soil. Most plants you buy from anywhere will come with some sort of chemicals or fertilizer, and for whatever reason you definitely don't want him snatching that up with a cricket or something... Just to be safe~

Everything else sounded like you've got it under control. Have fun building his home!

I used natural forest substrate not harmful to them on top, then covered that with some bark and moss. Mine rarely goes to the bottom of the cage any how but if he was to get any of that in his mouth, it wouldn't be harmful to him.

Just cover it with some thing you read/know is not harmful to them. Some use paper towels or just regular paper, cause its easy to clean and would be really hard for them to just snap up on accident lol
