We went to the reptile show today. It was fun looking around and we took advantage of the $10 fecals (everybody was clean). Enjoyed talking with Dr. Alfonso and his wife Divy as always. Jeremy (Germ here on the forums) also had a table and we got to chat with him for awhile and see (in person) his beautiful panther Steve.

Steve looks so much brighter in person than he does in these pictures

I didn't go to the show this weekend but I was curious who had this animal and if you remember what they had it labeled as? I'm curious if it was IDed correctly or not. Did they have additional specimens like it?

Chris

It was labeled Fischer. I believe it was at Ben Siegels.

Thanks, Jann, thats what I figured. For anyone interested, its actually a juvenile male Kinyongia vosseleri.

Chris

Some other vender on the other end of the room had a sick senegal chameleon that they were calling a flapneck. It was very sad, it didn't look like it was going to make it.

Chris how do you see so clearly the difference?

I've worked with most of the known east African two-horned chameleon species to varying degrees and I work hard to understand exactly how to differentiate and identify all the different chameleon species in general. I outlined the differences between all the Tanzanian Two-horned species that have entered the US (all of which I've worked it) here: https://www.chameleonforums.com/fischers-chameleon-kinyongia-fischeri-22395/

Yes, Steve is the only orange panther posted.

cool! I've never seen pics of him in that orange/yellow phase. he looks great. I thought the first pic with Jeremy was Steve for sure but didn't know about the other pics. Steve's actually my babby daddy. lol.

edit: sorry I just now noticed that this was clearly labeled. heh. wow I've only ever seen steve in a nice green color. cool!

Yea, Jeremy was telling us how Steve's colors had just changed to orange that he use to show more reds. I think it's his Halloween colors. lol

Here's a link to some pictures that Jeremy posted of Steve a couple of months ago. https://www.chameleonforums.com/could-another-annubis-43825/
