What would cause my chameleon stress in his cage? Nothings changed for the past 4 months n the past 3 or 4 days he stresses when in his cage. N as soon as I take him out he's fine or if he's asleep he's back to brite colors but when he's awake n in his cage he's a darker brown w black spots occasionally . Humidity levels are good temp levels are good on both sides of cage it's got me puzzled n I can't figure it out.?

He may need more cover. Can you post more(better) pics of his home? Did you ever put more climby things in for him?

Yea last note I built a hexagon screen tank and stuck it on topof the glass one so the tanks 5 feet tall screen on top with 3 out of 6 sides are covered n glass is same way I got 4 of the 6 ft climbing limbs bent around everywhere I took out that bedding n got that kit hydroballthe live plants down in the bottom in the glass part its tall enough its in the bottom of the screen part and will grow into it I got s big branch with multiple nranchs running off it that goes from top to bottom. Ill post the only pic o got rite now bit can post more later on

I got some I havnt put them in yet ill get them in here in a lil while and post a new pic o hete

Here's a pic with the plants in it now.mother thing is he rarely hides he's always just sitting out in the open n watches everything especially the tv
Almost every time I go to play a game he goes to the closets place in the cage towards the tv n just lays there n watches till I quit then he goes back ti doing wat ever he does

That was a good move adding the screen bit. I would add a little more sticks though. It does look better. I like to keep most of the cage packed, with maybe a little clearing. Think layers, like the rainforest.:)

Ok thx even after I've did this he's still all brown will changing their environment scenary stress them out n cause him to do this? Cuz all he does is stay close to the basking light n look around or walkover to the ugh light branch for a couple then rite back to the basking lite cuz wat all started it was I ran out of bedding so I went outside n dug up some grass turf for a couple days till I was able to get new n since then is when he's been staying brown

Room temp is round 75 but I figured ifhe wascold he'd stay brown outside the cage but he turns back to the green w yellow so I was guessing had some thing to do w his cage changing around

First of all...they usually lighten up in color when they sleep.

When you take a chameleon out of its environment/cage/territory they are automatically swung into "on guard" mode so the colors will usually brighten and the chameleon will be watching for predators.

Do you have a photo of him in his cage with the coloration that you are concerned about?

Ok ill wait n watch him for a week n see if anything changes n justs really dark brown id say bout dark as the bend a vines color almost nothings changed just his color I've read bright means stressed n I've read dark means stressed n bright don't so Idk wat way to go on that I've been trying to find a color stress scale every where n can't find one n today he was extremely aggressive I've never seen him like that usually he will get in his hissing fit when my hands bout to pick him up every now n then but today he was like raged as soon as I opened his cage he came acrossed it at me as fast as he could n tried attacking ny hand Idk wat that was bout but it was this afternoon for his daily feeding

Theres no "scale". You will need to observe the animal for a while to learn its "at rest" coloration. They are all different. A bright and vibrant display of colors is used to show how big and bad they are. This means they feel threatened, and thus "stressed". A dark and dull color, can signal a depressing type of stress. They also turn richly dark to bask, and soak up the heat and light rays. Just pay attention to him, and if anything "fishy" comes up, let us know.
