Sort of New but Not Really

Hello all! Hello again, I should say. I actually had an account here years ago (which I can't access since I no longer use the email address associated with the account), since I owned a male Veiled and could always count on the forum members for great advice. Sadly, I had to find a new home for him after college since my mother is not a fan of reptiles.

Now I have moved all the way across the country and do not have to worry about that happening again. I'm back because for one thing, I think i will try caring for a Panther this time. Not only do I want to try something different, but I really loved my Veiled and I know that having another one around would make me sad at least for a while. For another, I would really appreciate the assistance of the forum in gaining familiarity with good Seattle area stores and West Coast breeders.

Welcome back! I chose the Panther route and absolutely love it. I have an almost 6 month old male and two 3 month old females. From everything I've read, Panthers seem be a little more docile (Though of course, there's always exceptions and your husbandry has a lot of control of that). There's a pretty big list of Breeders on the west coast, a few of them are on our sponsored list. I highly recommend Bruce with Chameleon Paradise. He's in the San Jose area in California and has some stunning chameleons!

Everyone here is super helpful so ask away at any questions you may have!

Thanks for the welcome back and the breeder recommendation! I have some preparing to do but I'm hoping to be set up in the next couple of months.

I remember hearing previously that Panthers tend to be more docile than Veileds. It will be pretty awesome if that is the case because my Veiled got to be quite docile. He only ever hissed and lunged if I tried to take him out of his free range tree. :)

Yep, not one lunge or hiss from mine. Whenever I open his cage, he willingly walks over to my hand and knows he is either coming out for some snacks or to hang out, outside of his cage.

Keep in mind Nick Barta is a pretty busy guy, but I am sure if you are serious and polite, he would point you in the right places for specific needs. He is in the Puyallop area of WA. Maybe just PM and ask. Be patient, it may take a day or two to get a response. PS: he sells the oddball feeders, so you my friend, hit the jackpot of places to raise a cham. CHEAP SHIPPING!!!!! :D

Thanks for the tip! That's great to know. :D
