hello,
so i want to breed another type of feeder for my chams besides crickets, i often buy waxworms or roaches from my local pet store cause thats all they have. but i want to breed another feeder not to be used for every feeding just as a treat, whitch is best for my chams and are easy to breed? and also that dont have to be refrigerated.

Horn worms are a great feeder you didn't mention. They are easy to breed. camimom has a great blog about breeding them.
Dubia roaches are easy to breed, and are a better feeder then crickets.
Silkworms are very time consuming to breed but it is doable.

The rest I wouldn't worry about. Superworms and mealworms should only really consist of 10% of the chameleons diet. So they really don't need to be bred. And wax worms are high in fat, and should not be bred. They should only be treats, so you won't need to feed off enough to actually breed them.

I'd say silkworms are easier than hornworms to breed far less steps you just have to be cleaner with silkworms but really that goes for both. So?

yea sorry im just to lazy to look up all types of worms and feeders for chams thats why i put ect.
thanks for the feed back, i am going to try horn worms and how it goes for me. thanks alot :D

well this is what i read off google
"Silkworms are a great staple feeder for your reptile. They are packed with nutrients. They have no smell, can't jumb or run away, cannot bite, and are slow moving. They are one of the better feeders for your pet.

Silkworms can be a great feeder, but of all the feeder insects, they are hardest to breed. But, it's not impossilbe to accomplish."

i am just going to learn how to breed silkworms and hornworms and decide witch is easyer to breed for me or witch one i would like to breed. thanks for the info guys.

well i breed all those mentioned above and i have to say hornworms are the easiest in my opinion i barely started to breed waxworms and so far only a few have died:D

Waxworms are a poor choice of feeder - all fat little nutritional value
roaches are great, easy to gutload and easy to breed. Can form up to 40% of your chameleons diet, assuming you gutload them correctly.
Silkworms are a good feeder choice, not hard to breed (but far more time consuming than roaches, superworms or mealworms). Many people will refridgerate the eggs (though I dont seem to find that necessary). Can make up 30 or even 40% of your chameleons diet, depending on what other prey choices you offer and assuming you gutload them well.
Superworms are okay when gutloaded well, and easy to breed. Can make up 20% of the chameleons diet without any concerns.
Mealworms are as easy as roaches, but not a top quality feeder choice. Should limit to around 10% of your chameleons diet. A good treat choice :)

This blog entry has plenty of info about each feeder, including breeding info: https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/sandrachameleon/74-feeders.html
