Although I do not have my chameleon (plan on getting a panther) yet i bought plants and such alread one being a large schefflera actinophylla (amate) because everyone suggests schefflera's and now I am seeing these are toxic? Out of the plants i bought/have it has to be my favourite too. I did pick up an arboricola too but a much smaller one.

Should these not be used at all?

Just so I don't have alot of people telling me the arboricola are the safe scheffleras I did pick up one of those as well just on the small side. Might just return those two and pick up a larger arboricola

can anyone confirm that it should not be used.

Woman at the store didnt know it was toxic either since the arboricola isnt.

I believe they are, I also think they have flowers or berries or something which you don't want your Cham getting into, I'd go on the safe side and get a bigger aboricola.

Schefflera actinophylla (umbrella tree, octopus tree) Contains calcium oxalate crystals, like the Araceae (though it is in the Araliaceae instead), and causes similar irritation, swelling, pain, etc. There is also an allergen which can cause rashes and blistering, particularly in those exposed occupationally (like greenhouse workers, florists, propagators).
Schefflera arboricola (umbrella tree, octopus tree, arboricola) As for Schefflera actinophylla, q.v.

Does this mean they are safe?

Stick to the "classic" arboricola and you should be OK.
