Juli,
I love all animals but I have a special place in my heart for English Bulldogs. I am sorry to hear about your loss. I was really saddened to hear about it. Sounds like he got to do what they love best before he passed and that was eat. Rest in Peace Ross. Ryan J

Only animal lovers truly understand the loss of a pet and how it affects us. I have 16 animals myself (not including my chams)- 3 dogs over the age of 10 years and 2 cats over 10 years old - so I know I will be facing alot of heartache to come - but I try to enjoy them and love them while I can. I believe we will see them all again though, when we reach the pearly gates! God Bless!

So very sorry Juli,
It's hard enough when one of our extended "Family" passes on, but even harder for a parent. Your son was just a boy when you got Ross, so this must have hit him hard no matter how stoic he seems. To lose a loved pet AND watch your child suffer is almost unbearable. This has been a tough summer for you to endure. Our hearts go out to you.

oh my i'm so sorry for your loss. i know how it is to lose a pet. i had a mini pinscher and he was 15 yrs old. i got him for free when he was 4 from my friend's neighbor. i had to take him at that time cuz if i didn't they would put him to sleep and i couldn't let that happen and the kids were abusing him. i never regretted on taking him. i had to put him to sleep cuz his heart was enlarge and everytime he had to go out and do his business, he would pass out. the vet said they could give him medicine but it wouldn't make him really feel better. if i took the medicine for him, i would just be doing it for my own good and he'd pretty much still suffer. i still wonder if i did the right thing but i just didn't want him to suffer. at least he had a good life with me. i miss him. i'm actually looking for a chihuahua pup but right now they're so expensive that i can't afford it.

Your house is so full of life right now, I can't imagine losing him the way you did. It's amazing how their best friend always knows, and I always get concerned about the dog that lives on. I truly do feel for you and am not looking forward to the day this happens to me with my elderly 12 year old dalmatian. I know his time will come and I don't look forward to the decision of when's the right time to put him down. I think I'm just as concerned for his 'sister', as so many of my friends have lost the surviving dog due to 'heartbreak' that was perfectly healthy and missed their buddy so much. Please do take extra care and make sure your other dog continues to do well, just as you take care of yourself and try to stay strong! From one doggie lover to another...my thoughts are with you.
