I have blattaphobia as well due to a trauma when i was a kid (8 yo).
(True story that involved me and about 5000 roaches flying and crawling out of a drainage hole).

It started to look ridiculous when my gf can relax in the presence of roaches while i would start running like a chicken with its head cut off.

After encouragements from couple of members in here.
I got a small tub of Dubia roaches (courtesy of Dave Weldon).
I tried so hard not to squirm looking at Dave dumping couple of roaches that day.
I remember he gave me extra male adults to ensure the colony will thrive.

I can handle looking at the nymphs and the female. But, the male dubia just looked too much like the ordinary roaches.
Then I started to desensitize myself of roaches.

I still in no way or shape able to grab the roaches with my bare hand.
but, at least, now I no longer panic at the sight of dubia.
and I can feed Dubia to my chameleon using a metal tong.

Actually, i start to think that dubia nymphs kinda cute
