Hello,

What does a blank Reputation mean? Does it help you at all? I've gotten like 3or 4 of these and It doesn't do anything until the next Reputation left with a comment. It gave me like 8 points the last time someone left a Comment. Does it like hold the points until someone post a comment?

You know the little square bars below your member status - jr member, member, sr member, etc? Well i belive those bars determin your "credibility" and fill up the more reputation you gain.

If it is left blank, then the person that gave you postive feedback (clicking the green box at the top right hand side of your post) wishes to remain anon. You can put in a comment of why you gave them rep, or leave blank if you so choose.

Typically those with alot of bars know the stuff, and have been around the forums alot - meaning they give great advice, and probably as a general rule you will follow the advice given if that is what the post might be about.

Someday i hope to have 2 bars myself!!

Also thanks for the reply! I don't understand how it regulates how much points you get for it anyway? Like I said earlier, I got eight for one Reputation left. And sometimes I get 0, sometimes 1, sometimes 2

Maybe it's reviewed and weighted by the response you gave. Say someone asks about chameleon care and you stick a one line link to a thread or someone's website. Another time someone asks for help and you write a long, thorough post. Maybe Brad takes a look and gives one one point for the link and 8 for the post. And then someone else looks at the post and gives you some rep, too, then you only get one additional point.

But I'm just guessing.

It may have to do with how much rep you have given to others or whether you spread it around or just reciprocate with a small clique.

AFH, thanks for that, that would make sense, but how would Brad be able to make the points up for every Rep that is left?

The amount of points you receive for reputation depends on the "givers" reputation. IE: If I dole out some reputation to you if won't be as much as if Brad Ramsey gave you some.

Beware though, not everyone that has a high reputation is necessarily an experienced owner and vice versa.
