Hello all,

I wanted to start the process of finding someone who would be willing (for pay) to assist in feeding and general care of my Chameleons and Geckos when I am away for more than three days. It is not often that I am away for that long but I would like to have a couple people lined up. I am not sure if this is the path I want to take, but I wanted to see what type of responses I get.

I currently have a roommate that takes general care of them while I am gone. Only down side is he will not touch crickets and is a little afraid of reptiles. He is usually home when I am gone so I would only need someone to "assist" in some of the duties like a quick clean up and removal of old feeders and the occasional feeding. Maybe an every other day thing.

I would really like someone with some experience in identifying a problem if they see one. You would need to be close by. I live in Diamond Bar, Ca. Border of OC and LA county near Chino. Handling of the animals should not be necessary unless it would appear there is a problem, but you should not be afraid to handle if needed.

Below is what you would be up against. Its a pretty big load but all watering is automated for the Chameleons.

28 Chameleons
6 Crested Geckos
5 gargoyle Geckos
25 Leopard Geckos
4 N. wheeleri geckos
2 N. levis levis geckos

I am going to be very careful in choosing who I would like to care for the zoo. I will be generous in compensation for your time. The application process may be a little overdone but I need to be comfortable in my choice. I am sure you understand.

Sr. Forum members considered first
SBCK member/attendee a huge plus
Keeping of the animals listed above is a plus

Really? Hmm If you don't find anyone else that knows geckos I'd be willing to do it of course you would have to give me a walk through of gecko care :)

no problem they are easy, It is as easy as checking the water and dumping crickets in or giving them gecko diet.

It would be a little drive for you I think. You are in LA right?

Yeah I'm in Hawthorne about 5 minutes from Dave Weldon. Drive? LOL I have to sit in 2 hours of traffic one way just to get to work :p

Ryan,

I also can help if it's only 3 days or so :D

but, since I can be very busy at time, please confirm with me first before hand.
I only ask that you would do the same for my animal when I need to be out of town.

6 Crested Geckos
5 gargoyle Geckos
25 Leopard Geckos
4 N. wheeleri geckos
2 N. levis levis geckos

live in brea

had to give up all but two chams when i moved to brea, now im having a baby ( which any day now so keeping a cham myself most likely isnt in the future.

no chameleons at the time so it would be nice just to be around them every once and a while.

pm me and well talk

either way good luck

Somehow it is always hard for me to remember you are so young, you sure are knowledgeable. Glad you take scuh good care of your reptiles to learn all you have.

I dont know too much about gecko care but i do have 3 chams all in great health, the only thing i am still iffy on is gravid issues, but i dont think we would have to worry about that in the 3 days you are gone. Not affraid to touch crickets or any insects. I live in Yorba Linda So Diamond Bar is a short 20 min drive on the 57. Let me know if you want any more info from my end.
