repotting a hibiscus?

OK...dumb question...

but how do I repot a hibiscus? Do I just dig it up, hope I got all the roots and put it in a new pot?

The reason I'm asking is because my current pot is actually a bit big, it seems. It fits in his cage, but it touches the sides and kinda puts tension on the screen and I noticed the screen starting to tear a bit.

Also, should I put a screen over the dirt in the pot, so Kukui doesn't eat it? I haven't been doing that, but I heard that someone has been and I was like "ohhh..maybe I should..." :/

hi rose
youll want to take it out of its existing pot and shake as much dirt off as possible if its still too big you can shear the sides and bottom to make it fit in your new pot it should be fine and i would cover your soil i use large river stone big enough that yhey cant ingest them
