Chameleon Paintings - Hand Painted in Kenya!

Chris Anderson --> I just PMed you. :D

Will you please convey to Anthony how much I love his paintings? I have the five cards I bought last year framed and hung in my home, and people comment all the time on how lovely they are. I plan to hang one of the new paintings in my office at work.

If anyone is on the fence about buying one of the paintings - do it! The colors online DO NOT do justice to the watercolors. They are so very unique and beautiful. Plus, who has art from halfway around the world? Awesome people, that's who.

Ha, just sent you a PM back! I'm glad you like his work. I have one of his paintings hanging on my wall that Andrea had him make for me several years ago and I love it. I also snagged one of the new ones for myself too (the T. narraioca one) and am looking forward to getting it framed and up on the wall. Andrea asked Anthony to make a bunch of these for me to sell to you all here, since the cards got such a good response, and she instantaneously sold a number of them before she could even send them to me! She is doing a postdoc out of the UK and a number of her students who were on the trip she taught, and other people at her University (including some chameleon folks there) wanted some. Fortunately I was able to get a bunch of them for everyone here still. Next time we'll definitely have to ask him for more though I think, and a couple people have already put in special requests.

Thanks again for the support! I will definitely have Andrea pass on your compliments!

Chris

I framed the cards as well- they are in my little girl's room. She's my little lizard lover... They look wonderful and I also get a lot of compliments. Glad to see he is doing more!

I just got my chameleon painting, and I'm blown away! :) I LOVE it! I hope Anthony paints some more, I'd love to have a collection of these on the wall. He is a very talented artist. Thank you Chris, for giving us the opportunity to buy these, as well as helping out an aspiring artist.

I just put it in a frame I had a botanical print in, to protect it. I'll be putting it in a different frame and mat. :)

Mine arrived with the envelope folded in half! Stupid USPS...:mad::mad:

After a few days in a homemade humidity chamber with weighted flatteners (pie weights in socks), I've taken the bend out of all but one small area of hard crease. Thank goodness for that "paper conservation" workshop I took in grad school! I could keep working that area, but I am afraid of remobilizing the pigments. It's right over the body, so I'll leave it be.

It's framed at my office. People keep asking me if it's Ferdinand :D

I didn't even realize there were new Kenya paintings available. They all look really nice!

Damn, I'm sorry to hear this. You'd think with the big piece of cardboard I put in to keep it rigid and the fact that they charge package rates rather than letter rates before it was rigid that they wouldn't bend it in half! Very frustrating...

Neither rain nor snow nor any amount of cardboard can dissuade the US Post Office when determined to make an 8" envelope fit into a 6" slot...

It's all but invisible now in the frame. Plus I just love it! I know I keep saying it, but please do let Anthony know how much i love his talent. :)

Mine came in bent too but it looks okay in a cheap Ikea frame. One day when I’m rich again I’ll get these artworks (I also have the 5 postcard sized set) more professionally done up but for now they are protected and I can enjoy them. Everybody who comes over thinks they are way cool. So Anthony, if you are reading this; keep painting!

I'm super glad to get mine and I love it! I do hope Anthony is working on some more, I'd be very interested also!!!
After hearing of some of them arriving bent I'm glad I ordered the "Mountain Dragon" book also,, the packaging kept mine flat and wrinkle free!!
