Quick question about super worm beetles

So I got my larvae a while ago, and now I'm pupating them. Already got about 10, and the oldest ones are beginning to emerge. I haven't set up the beetle bin yet (derp!), but I have just one question:

I know some people have branches and whatnot because the females supposedly lay eggs on bark, so I'm wondering if I could place pinches of repti-bark in there for the females, that way the eggs are laid near the bedding/food.

Think that'll work?

I don't see why not, I just use oatmeal and throw in a couple of toilet paper rolls some carrots and kale sometimes a potato. And I get tons of babies, Good luck:)

They will lay eggs on anything. The sides of the container, a piece of cardboard, a plastic lid, amongst the substrate... I have chunks of coconut husk in mine.

I wouldnt use anything. Just makes it harder to transfer beetles from one container to another. Ive had no problem just running bran only. Dont forget to move beetles every 1-2 weeks as the beetles and the newly hatched supers will start eating on eggs depleting the colony.
