Hi,
As I am a newbie to chams, I would like the opinion of the experts on the colour transformation during the growing phases of the veiled chameleon.
My 4 month old male veiled has just shed and unlike other herps in my collection, there doesn't seem to be much difference in colour each shed...
In a nutshell, his body is getting brighter and maybe a few different colours, but his head seems to stay a light grey colour, not matching his body...see pics.
Have I got a dud coloured cham, or is this a normal colour progression, OR will he end up with a reasonably attractive body and a drab coloured grey head?
I am aware that mood is the contributing factor to colour, but most veileds I see are nice coloured!
I'll still love him as he is a pet, but like all my other herps, I strive to have (what I think anyway) the best representatives of that species.
Opinions please guys, I'm very interested in the colour variations of this species and I do understand there are dud's (colouration wise) in most all animals, so I won't be offended if you say he's ugly!! lol
Cheers
Scott
PS...For the record and everyone one of you brother/sister herpers living in the USA, who are thinking this dude can't spell, we don't spell colour "color" in my country.
Thanks guys....
