Question on Colour...

Hi,

As I am a newbie to chams, I would like the opinion of the experts on the colour transformation during the growing phases of the veiled chameleon.
My 4 month old male veiled has just shed and unlike other herps in my collection, there doesn't seem to be much difference in colour each shed...
In a nutshell, his body is getting brighter and maybe a few different colours, but his head seems to stay a light grey colour, not matching his body...see pics.
Have I got a dud coloured cham, or is this a normal colour progression, OR will he end up with a reasonably attractive body and a drab coloured grey head?
I am aware that mood is the contributing factor to colour, but most veileds I see are nice coloured!
I'll still love him as he is a pet, but like all my other herps, I strive to have (what I think anyway) the best representatives of that species.
Opinions please guys, I'm very interested in the colour variations of this species and I do understand there are dud's (colouration wise) in most all animals, so I won't be offended if you say he's ugly!! lol
Cheers
Scott
PS...For the record and everyone one of you brother/sister herpers living in the USA, who are thinking this dude can't spell, we don't spell colour "color" in my country. ;)
Thanks guys....:D

He is a bit young to judge color, and from personal experience I know the grey head thing can be scary! :) Mine went through that phase, but after a few more sheds his head colored up with the rest of him. In fact several people here have posted about grey heads!

The double head shed is common (especially at that age)
He looks like he will shed his head again soon.
He looks great! Don't worry.

Pretty Boy!

Yeah, he's no dud. Just about everthing relating to chams takes patient. Just enjoy watching him grow and develop. He's a good looking boy :)

Hey thanks for the replies people, that's reassuring...:)

Julirs- Leon's a handsome boy isn't he? He does look very similar to my boy!
PardalisGirl- You have some awesome specimens in your collection, i'm jealous...well done.
Brad- Kitty's looking great, a question though, why didn't you finish the chapter in your blog on his hiding from you? I found it very interesting, especially that chapter as my Popeye is going through that now....Come on mate, get to it, you have some fans reading your work...lol:)

Oh my goodness...the blog!
I have abandoned it:(
Perhaps I should go in there and start again.
Hmmmm...

lol...off topic but...
We have an advertisment on TV in my country about fire dangers in the home, where a lady leaves her fries (we call them chips) cooking in oil on the stove top, which inadvertanely spontaneously combust and burn the kitchen down and the catch phrase is "Oh my goodness....the chips!
That ad was the first thing that came to my head when I read your post.....:D

A bit slack brother...lol ;)

No just finishing that chapter i'm currently interested will be fine.

Cheers mate....
