Question about my cat

I have a 6 year old spayed cat. The last, probably, 4 or 5 days, my husband and I have noticed she looks a bit strange around her mouth. It's a bit hard to explain, but when you are looking at her, it looks like her bottom lip is maybe hanging down farther than usual. I don't think it's swollen, but there is definitely a lot more pink there than there used to be. I really hope I'm making sense here. Could this be a sign of a stroke? I've never seen anything like this, and it's really hard to explain.....she just looks different, and my husband and I are both a bit alarmed by it. Does anyone know what this could be?

Okay, so I just held her down and investigated closer. It is VERY swollen, but it's only swollen on the part that sits between her top canine teeth when her mouth is closed...just the part that you see. Her chin isn't swollen or anything. Can I do anything for her to help? She doesn't have any trouble eating or anything.

Not signs of a stroke. What color is she?

Yes, but that's the gums, not the lips.

She looks a lot like a siamese or a snow shoe, but she came from a regular tabby cat. I used to have her as my avatar...let me see if I can somehow get a link to that picture.

Here's a picture of her(this is from a few years ago).

Aw she's so pretty! If it's been there for more than a few days and hasn't gone down then I would try to get her into the vet. If it was something that just popped up today I'd be tempted to say possible allergic reaction. With a longer history I'd want to check for a foreign body (thorn, sick, etc), tooth abscess or something else. The reason I asked about her color is that white cats (or cats with white lips) are more prone to getting a type of cancer if they sit in the sun a lot. I don't want to scare you by saying that - I'd look for the less scary things first for sure. So my suggestion would be to plan on a vet appointment.

Thank you! I will get her in for an appointment. She has been a bit more rambunctious lately. We have a kitten of hers(she's 3 years old now), and they have been rough housing a lot more than usual the last week or so. I'm hoping maybe she just bumped into something. She is an absolute love and we are just crazy about her. I will let you all know what I find out! Thanks for the help!
