Plants and Humidity

I just have a quick question about plants and humidity levels.

Currently we have a ficus, pothos and scheffrela in our terrarium. We mist a few times a day while having 3 sides of the terrarium covered in plastic to help keep any water we are spraying inside of the cage. Are there certain plants anyone knows of that help humidity levels more than others? It may sound like a dumb question, but I was just curious. I know the more live plants the better, but I was really just wondering if maybe the combination of certain plants helps better than others.

Any recommendations for specific and magical humidity boosting plants?

Thanks!!! :)

not exactly what you are looking for, but I noticed that using terra cotta pots helps with humidity. when i switched back to plastic pots, my humidity dropped pretty significantly.

Really?? I never thought of the fact that a terra cota pot would help with humidity levels. That's a really great idea.

yeah--i'm guessing terra cotta can absorb a good amount of moisture and then slowly releases it back into the environment. I was pretty surprised at the differences in humidity readings with and without these pots. I'm not sure if anyone else has had similar results with terra cotta or not. the only downside was my guy liked to gnaw on it and it creeped me out, so I switched back to plastic. I know what you're going through with humidity, living in the NE makes it a little harder to get the ideal levels.

I'll definitely give that a try. That really is a wonderful idea. Thanks so much for that! We are in NJ and right now going from Winter to Spring, it's definitely tough with the very dry air. Luckily as it warms up here we get really high humidity.

We use a terra cotta saucer with some rocks in it. We have a dripper that we use to slowly drip water into the saucer. It seems to have a positve effect.
