Plant lighting question

I'm wondering, do any of you use additional plant gro lights along with the Reptisun fluorescents? I have done so in my red eye tree frog enclosure, but they use a different light from the Reptisun (being nocturnal, UVB is not as tricky). Is the Reptisun enough to keep the plants healthy, or should I get an additional plant light? There is a pretty good sized schefflera tree in her enclosure, and a smaller croton hanging on one side.

I also have a question
The double fixture you buy at Lowe's-Do they need two bulbs to work?
I tried with one bulb, but it didn't turn on.

Yes, I'm using the 48" double fixture to span 3 of my cages.
One is a plant light and the other, which I'm waiting on, is a reptisun 5.0

Justin, as far as I know fluorescent fixtures have to have lights in all spots in order to work. Depending on the fixture, one light may keep working after another burns out, or the burnt out one may cause the good one to flicker, but there can't be any empty spaces.

Yeah...they need two bulbs in order to work.

t12's(the fat bulbs) are that way, the new t8's(skinny) are ran by electronic ballasts and will not flicker or go out if another bulb is burnt or missing. the biggest difference in magnetic vs. electronic ballasts besides weight.
