I picked up a veiled that looked pitiful in a 1.5 or 2 gal tank at petco on tuesday.. He was all kinds of nasty dark colors and was cool to the touch.. When i got back to work from my lunch break i gave him a warm bath in the sink while my class was napping and he brightened up pretty quickly..
When i got home i set my shower to the fine mist setting and he walked right to the water and sat there with his head up blissfully taking in the moment, he drank the water that dripped down his face and had beautiful light colors showing.. He had a bowel movement while in the warm shower.. The next day he ate a large cricket dusted with rep-cal and herptivite (1:1) and had another bm... He had a bm later in the week and ate again on saturday (one large cricket), he was offered wax worms on other days but wasnt interested in eating..
His casque is bent to one side so im pretty sure MBD is present, he has very little muscle mass and as far as movement goes he can walk around well but can not climb anything with more than a 45 degree incline, his tail doesnt really have much bulk to it and doesnt curl into the iconic cham spiral
He has a very sweet temperment and enjoys having his casque and chin gently rubbed, my biggest concerns are getting his bones harder and developing normally and building muscle in his limbs and tail so he can climb more and support himself better
Any tips for feeding to build muscle and beating MBD?
right after i got him
right after i got him
after his rinse in the sink at work
in the shower
just out of the shower
just out of the shower
bent casque
