Picked this sweet little girl up yesterday... haven't named her yet. She seems to be settling in well... very active and has exploring her new home.

Her tail seems to have been nipped, she was housed with her sister when we got her.. and had probably been housed with the rest of her siblings prior to that (at the local myrtle beach reptile expo this weekend)

She's still able to curl the tail and uses it without a problem. Do you think it will heal or is it likely to break off? How old would you guys say she is?
Thanks for looking!

She's gorgeous! I'd say about 4 months old.. I'd start getting her used to a laying bin now. They have laid as early as 4 months before though not common.
And if her tail was crunched it most likely turn black and fall off with very little trouble just keep t clean and look out for possible infection.. though it could be just deformed/ birth defect.

Over all pretty lady ;)

She's gorgeous, congrats :D Looks like she's been bullied a bit, yeah.....she'd need to pretty clumsy to trap her own tail that many times......
Doesn't look serious, but she might always have little marks there.
4 months ish, depends on how much the bullying affected her. Looks like she got enough food though so 4 months is what she looks.

Congrats! She's a little doll baby. I'd say she's 3 to 4 months old. I'd keep a close eye on her tail and put some Silver Sulfadiazine cream on it for 8 to 10 days.

She's beautiful :) Congrats.
If her tail did get crunched but she can still use it she should be fine :) Just keep an eye on it.

I trapped pascals tail in the cage door when he was a baby, he didnt hiss or anything just fell asleep like that, and the next morning it was sore, but he was fine.

NO, I didnt leave it like that on purpose.. it was morning when I noticed, but like i said he was fine after. I learned to always check the cage door tho!

But like I said, congrats! babies are fun and shes a cutie!!!

BTW, I love your nails lol

Thank you!! I suspect she was bullied by her siblings, since they were likely all housed together... when we got her she was with another girl and they were showing aggression towards each other. I will keep an eye on it, so far it doesnt seem to be giving her trouble but will continue to check just incase. Will be preparing laying bin soon, probably this weekend...a smaller one in her cage to watch for the signs of scratching, and then a large trashcan for the actual laying (Jannb's method) Since we've had really terrible luck with girls refusing to use bins in their enclosures.

Thanks David! She's such a sweet little thing.. I do think she's been bullied. The tail seems to be bruised, but the skin isn't broken.. no cuts or blood showing. Just a few little black marks. I'll keep a close eye on it, hopefully it doesnt fall off or get infected.

shes a beautiful veiled

Thanks so much Jann :) I'm in love with her already... she's got the sweetest personality. We are keeping a close eye on her tail.. is Silver Sulfadiazine available over the counter? Also, do you think we should cut back on her food intake already or is it too soon? She weighs 18g.

She's beautiful :) Congrats.

Thank you! I will definitely keep a close eye on her tail. Glad to hear that your Pascal's tail was ok after keeping stuck in the door. I hope that is the case with her's too! And thanks so much on the manicure compliments :) I did them myself (am a nail polish junkie) LOL.

She's a cutie pie - hope that her tail doesn't cause any problems, but she looks pretty healthy to me, and I also chime in with a 4 month guess (makes me feel good when I guess an age and scroll down to have more experienced people confirm that!). Great nails too - in one of the pics she's looking at them as if to say, "Mom, do that for me too!" :D
